From December – February we ran an online survey to find out about what you want and need to ensure you have a comprehensive social life in London. We intended to publish the findings as well as on our website share the information with clubs, societies, venues & event organisers, gay businesses and gay media to help shape the nightlife and social community for lesbians and bisexual women in the future.

We hoped to build a picture of the social community of lesbians and bisexual women of London, your tastes, interests, what you enjoy and of course, what you don’t.

We want to help ensure a thriving and diverse social community and knowing what you like is an important part of that.

Thank you very much for your support in the first ever lesbian and bisexual women’s social community survey. Our expectations were far surpassed with the 717 responses we received.

We are delighted to have received so many considered responses that detail what you like, dislike and want from your social community.

A very quick insight into some of the key issues raised...

1. There is great disappointment at the recent closures of lesbian venues and events, and the desire for a new day time cafe style venue
2. There is widespread perception that the social scene is only aimed at younger, single lesbians
3. Many of you didn’t know about all the many events there are available – keep your eyes on our events calendar as your most comprehensive listing of events for you, all in one place

Our aims

your anonymity

We have designed the survey to build a picture of the lesbian and bisexual community, whilst ensuring anonymity – we aren’t asking for any names or details that can identify individuals and all findings will be presented as aggregates and not on individual bases.

Who should complete the survey?

This survey is for anyone who identifies themselves as female and who is attracted to other females regardless of the labels (or not) you choose to use.

When will the survey launch?

The survey will go live on Thursday 1 December 2011 and will close at 11.59pm on Wednesday 29 February 2012
